Medical

The Medical (Health Science) program introduces students to the diverse and rapidly growing field of healthcare. Designed for students interested in medical and health-related careers, the course provides a strong foundation in health sciences, professional skills, and real-world applications essential to patient care and healthcare systems.

Medical I focus on building fundamental knowledge and skills. Students learn basic healthcare skills, medical terminology, legal and ethical responsibilities, human body systems, infection control, and safety practices. The course also explores a wide range of healthcare career pathways, helping students identify areas of interest while developing professionalism, teamwork, and communication skills essential in healthcare settings.

Medical II emphasizes advanced skill development and deeper exploration of healthcare careers. Students engage in hands-on learning experiences, refine technical and clinical skills, and gain a more in-depth understanding of healthcare roles and responsibilities. The course includes job shadowing opportunities within healthcare facilities, allowing students to observe professionals in real-world environments and connect classroom learning to career practice.

Completion of Biology is required prior to enrollment in Medical courses, as students apply biological concepts to patient care, body systems, and disease processes.

The Medical program prepares students for postsecondary education, certifications, and future careers in healthcare by fostering critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
